Hungree BurgersHungree Burgers found its beginning as a small kiosk of siopao and hamburgers in Manila. On August 8, 2000, husband and wife team Arthur and Kathryn Alma Manuntag launched Hungree Burgers with a small food cart situated near the playing court inside the PAGCOR Jai-alai Building.

Arthur Manuntag co-founder and formulator of Hungree Burgers’ recipe, had a passion for cooking. He was influenced by his Pampangueño father and Ilongga mother, Daddy Bads and Nanay Lagring. From the time Arthur was 7 years old, he relished creating meals especially his all-time favorite food, burgers. He cooked delicious burgers –first for his family and close friends, then later for thousands of people around the metro. It was Arthur’s love for cooking and entrepreneurial spirit that led to the creation of Hungree Burgers’ main product, the Super Hungree, an 8-inch in diameter burger, also known as Asia’s first and original giant burger.

Serving only burgers, siopao, franks, etc., Jai-alai fans and players patronized Hungree’s burger recipe which allowed Arthur and Kathryn Alma to earn back their business capital in only a month. This experience sparked their excitement and pushed them to open more stores. At present, Hungree Burgers has three outlets within metro.

We will grow into a national chain of giant burgers and become a choice “pasalubong” for family and friends, strengthening and savoring relationship through meal-sharing, one burger at a time.
