How to make Kiwifruit Jam

It is one of the most commercial crop in some countries.  Also known as the Chinese gooseberry, kiwi fruit is nutritious and contain potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamins A and E.

Today, Kiwifruit makes for a very tasty and exotic jam, especially when coupled with tropical fruit juice such as pineapple.  A very nutritious and delicious jam that will sure a hit in your breakfast table.  Try this simple recipe and you won’t be disappointed! You can even make a good profit out of this new Kiwifruit jam recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups sliced kiwifruit
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 packet pectin
  • 4 cups sugar
  • A large saucepan
  • Sterilized jars

Procedures:

  1. Pour the kiwifruit, pineapple juice and pectin in the large saucepan.
  2. Start heating the mixture, and slowly add sugar, stirring vigorously, until dissolved.
  3. Bring the kiwifruit jam to a boil: keep stirring carefully and remove the occasional foam with a spoon.
  4. After 5 minutes, turn off the flame and let the jam rest for about 20 minutes.
  5. Pour the kiwi fruit jam into your sterilized jars, leaving about 1/4 inch free, and seal them…done!

Note: A slightly sour variation can be made by adding 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.
