LOCO Local CoffeeLOCO is a coffee shop founded by a group of friends with a passion for coffee and a deep yearning to promote locally sourced coffee starting in Panay and eventually, they hope to be able to source and promote beans from all over the Philippines.

LOCO aims to be the top brand that comes to mind when consumers think of iced (cold-brew) coffee by serving locally sourced, delicious and affordable coffee in convenient locations while empowering local farmers. It hopes to be able to create a sustainable social enterprise that allows consumers to enjoy coffee at a fair price and in the process. Continually sell enough to be able to support local farmers.

LOCO makes it a point to meet the farmers bypassed by big companies. These are the small family-owned farms whose yield is not be able to compete with the volume produced by the more affluent growers. LOCO always makes an effort to get to know these farmers hoping to strengthen ties with them by meeting their families, knowing their stories and the challenges they face in growing, harvesting and processing the coffee. Through this, LOCO hopes to be able to address these problems in cooperation with the farmers. And be able to improve the quality and yield of their produce.

LOCO’s flagship product is cold brew coffee – a process that does not expose the beans to heat, making it less acidic and sweeter. It also forgoes using electricity and expensive equipment making it a more feasible business idea with a cheaper start-up cost than most coffee shops/stalls.

The owners- Mica, Achilles and Ayn first sold their first cup on April 30, 2016 at the 2nd Produkto Lokal Fair held at the Molo Mansion. They then opened their first store at the Food Park on May 16, 2016.

Less than a year later, they opened their 2nd branch in 012 General Luna St. in Iloilo City.
