PEDRITO’S Fried ChickenPEDRITO’S started the fried chicken business in 2006 at Narciso St., Surigao City and was first named as Gayang’sKwek-Prayd. In 2011 it moved to Toril Public Market in Davao City and was re-launched as Frito Pedrito. A friend also opened his kiosk in Mintal Public Market, Davao City and became our first retailer. With no much success due to some circumstances beyond control, the owner Dennis Parreno decided to come back to General Santos City and worked part-time with an advertising company owned by a friend.

Sometime in November 2012 he had a project in one of the department stores in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato. Infront of the department store was a fried chicken business that sold like hot cakes. He offer his fried chicken premix to them but was rejected. The neighbor, a carinderia owner had been praying that they would someday have a fried chicken business too. So when Dennis came they immediately accepted the business offered to them. Having experienced some financial setbacks, Dennis has only 2,500 pesos on his pocket to start the business. He was only able to buy the fried chicken premix and the carinderia owner provided the rest. And on December 19, 2012 the first full store outlet was opened. It was then the business was registered as Pedrito’s Fried Chicken.

The success of the first outlet was overwhelming. He was able to grab 50% of the competitor’s customers in just a month. It was so successful that a friend (of the owner of the first outlet), a respectable businessman in the city was convinced to set up also his own fried chicken business inside his grocery store in Kidapawan City and a branch in Kabacan, North Cotabato in February 2013. In April of the same year Pikit, North Cotabato outlet was opened and Koronadal City, South Cotabato in August 2013. Mr. Parreno decided to open his own outlet in Polomolok, South Cotabato last September 5, 2013. Success was so great it was like wild fire that it spread throughout the whole SOCCSKSARGEN Region (Region XII) in just one year of operation.

To date, Pedrito’s Fried Chicken has 37 Franchise outlets and 2 company owned.
