How to make Eucheuma Seaweeds CandyEucheuma Candy is made of eucheuma seaweeds, milk, sugar and fruits. According to the people who were asked to judge its taste, they found it highly acceptable. Eucheuma contains fats, sodium, carbohydrates, protein and minerals that are essential for health.

Aside from its being delicious and nutritious, making Euchema candy can be a profitable livelihood project with a very low start-up capital. This means a better income for the seaweeds farmers and a more nutritious food for their families and other people.

How to make Eucheuma Seaweeds Candy

Ingredients:

  • Bleached eucheuma
  • Evaporated milk
  • Sugar
  • Fruit/Flavor (Langka, Buko, Mango, Chocolate, Pineapple or any fruit you like to add)

Procedure:

  1. Soak 100 grams bleached eucheuma seaweed for 1 hour.
  2. Drain the seaweeds for 10 minutes.
  3. Boil the seaweeds for 10 minutes.
  4. Blend the boiled seaweeds for 10 minutes together with 2 cups of the chosen fruit.
  5. Cook the mixture with 1 can evaporated milk and 1 kg sugar for 45 minutes with continuous stirring.
  6. Pour the mixture into molders and let it cool.
  7. Cut into desired sizes.
  8. Roll in confectionery sugar.
  9. Wrap in candy wrappers.
