TRAVEL CAFÉ Philippines
The TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES is a travel-themed Lifestyle Café which was first established in the Philippines at the Greenbelt 5, Ayala Center in Makati City on 18 December 2007. It presents a unique and creative alternative in marketing the Philippines abroad and establishing a strong global “brand” for Philippine Tourism.
The TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES (TCP) is a pioneering “Branding Initiative” of the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT), which will bring tourism promotions to the next level: the TCP will establish a permanent Philippine presence in high visibility locations that are directly accessible to the Tourist Customers in our target tourism markets.
Inspired by the success of the first TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES in Tokyo, Japan, Philippine Tourism Secretary Joseph “Ace” Durano believed that franchising the TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES is a surefire way of quickly building a global BRAND for the Philippines, especially in key tourism markets abroad.
The Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT), under Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano, owns the Travel Café Philippines trademark, logo and franchise model. The DOT has authorized its marketing arm, the Philippine Convention & Visitors Corporation (PCVC), to serve as the BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT GROUP for the TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES Franchise.
A Director for Business Development, Ms. Rosvi C. Gaetos, PCVC Deputy Executive Director, heads the Business Development Group and is supported by a team of young and enthusiastic members. Mr. Kazuyuki Goto of Travel Café Company Ltd., Japan; Franchise Consultants from FRANCORP Philippines; and the Food and Beverage Team of Makati Skyline, Inc./ISS Facility Services Philippines led by Ms. Erlinda R.S. Sunico and Executive Chef Him Uy de Baron assist the TCP Business Development Group.
The TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES will feature a Travel Shop, which will provide travel information on the Philippines, and a convenient facility for onsite travel bookings to the Philippines.
It will offer a Food Menu that is reflective of traditional Filipino cuisine, yet adapted for a “Specialist Lifestyle Cafe” and for the international market, in terms of ingredients, preparation, and taste. Its Beverage Menu exclusively promotes organic, Fair Trade Philippine coffee as the “Core Beverage.”
The philosophy behind the TRAVEL CAFÉ PHILIPPINES Philippine Business Model is Coffee, Travel, and More… By Coffee, we mean “Philippine Coffee”; by Travel, we mean “travel to the Philippines”; and by More, we mean “more on the Philippines as a great destination”.
