THE GENERICS PHARMACY stemmed from its mother company, registered in 1949.  In 1959, when a group of Filipino entrepreneurs took over, the company began importing and wholesaling pharmaceutical products.

In 1989, with the prices of medical and pharmaceutical products soaring, the company decided to sell generic drugs primarily to government hospitals to help less privileged Filipinos avail affordable quality medicines.

Heeding the call for cheaper medicine, the company stepped up its distribution by opening its retail arm in 2001.  In 2007, THE GENERICS PHARMACY tapped Francorp, the world leader in franchising, to engineer its franchise development and growth. The goal is to make affordable generic medicine more available to a greater number of the population at the soonest possible time.  It thus became the first generics retail pharmacy to franchise in the Philippines.

Franchise Details

We are offering unit franchises for as low as P600,000 to P800,000 inclusive of franchise fee. Franchise is available in two formats:

• SOLO OR EXPRESS  -  a new pharmacy located near markets, hospitals, big drugstores, or inside malls
• TANDEM OR IN-STORE – a pharmacy located within or inside a medical clinic or hospital, or inside existing stores like convenience stores, supermarkets, groceries, department stores, and cosmetic stores

The ideal locations for a stand alone or in-store unit is a minimum of 15 square meters, depending on the format.

• The right to use our trademark, name and logo
• Start-Up and Pre-opening assistance
• Site evaluation assistance
• Architectural/Store design and construction assistance
• Franchise operations manual
• Extensive training on pharmacy retailing, business management/operations and customer service
• Guidance and education on generic drugs
• Provides uniform
• Regular advertising support
• Marketing and Promotion assistance

Franchise Term: three (3) years, renewable to 2 additional 3-year terms for a total of 9 years.

Royalty fee:  1% of gross sales for continuing support services.  Monthly on every 15th of the succeeding month.
